Literature Research Journal

Literature Research Journal (LRJ) is an innovative and interdisciplinary open-access scholarly publication. It is dedicated to advancing literary discourse by transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries, connecting literary studies with contemporary digital, ecological, technological, and social contexts.
LRJ focuses on exploring literary texts, both traditional and contemporary, through the lens of new methodologies, such as digital humanities, transmedia studies, ecocriticism, cultural studies, and science-based approaches. We are committed to highlighting the unique intersections between literature, indigenous technologies, local knowledge, and global issues, with particular attention to the Indonesian and Southeast Asian contexts within global discourse.
The journal's scope includes, but is not limited to:
1. Literature and Digital Technology: Analysis of literary texts using digital tools, studies of adaptation to digital platforms (games, webtoons, social media), and the impact of digital spaces on literary production and reception.
2. Literature and Ecology: Ecocriticism in the Indonesian context, climate change narratives, and representations of human relationships with nature in oral and written literature.
3. Literature at the Intersection of Disciplines: Studies connecting literature with the creative economy, mental health, cognitive science, gastronomy, and other non-traditional fields of study.
4. Literature, Identity, and Cultural Agency: Explorations of diasporic literature, representations of marginalized groups (disabled, elderly), and research on literature as a form of indigenous knowledge and social agency.
5. Innovative Research Formats: LRJ encourages the publication of experimental forms of research, including visual essays, visualized data analysis, and creative academic responses that enrich our understanding of texts.

LRJ's goal is to be a premier platform for academics, researchers, cultural practitioners, and digital creators to discuss the future of literary studies that is dynamic, relevant, and impactful. With a commitment to open access and inclusivity of methods, LRJ aims not only to analyze literature but also to revitalize its role in understanding the complexities of the 21st-century world.

Literature Research Journal is published every March and September.

Literature Research Journal is an invaluable international peer-reviewed journal that covers the latest research in stylistics, defined as the study of style in literary and non-literary language published by Perkumpulan Pengelola Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia serta Pengajarannya. We publish theoretical, empirical and experimental research that aims to make a contribution to our understanding of style and its effects on readers. Topics covered by the journal include (but are not limited to) the following: the stylistic analysis of literary and non-literary texts, cognitive approaches to text comprehension, corpus and computational stylistics, the stylistic investigation of multimodal texts, pedagogical stylistics, the reading process, software development for stylistics, and real-world applications for stylistic analysis. We also encourage interdisciplinary submissions that explore the connections between stylistics and such cognate subjects and disciplines as psychology, literary studies, narratology, computer science and neuroscience. Literature Research Journal is essential reading for academics, teachers, and students working in stylistics and related areas of language and literary studies.
